Shannon is very passionate about working with individuals. She presents a warm and caring presence that allows clients to experience and process unresolved, blocked emotions and challenge negative and distorted thinking patterns. Holding this therapeutic space allows for clients to transform difficult emotions like anger, guilt, grief, hopelessness, and helplessness into positive insight, healing, increased self-worth, self acceptance, balanced living and empowerment.
Areas of focus for individual counseling include; infertility, grief-loss, chronic-long term illness, anxiety-stress management, depression, LGBTQ, relationship and life transitions. Working on individual issues can provide additional benefits such as creating healthier connections and communication in relationships. Shannon hopes everyone she meets feels like they 'shine a little brighter' after their work together.

Shannon works with clients 12 years of age and older. She has a relaxed presence, creative exploration and sincere interest which makes it easy for her to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Her philosophy in family counseling is to explore and recreate connection among family members. Less time is spent talking about the content of problems and more attention is placed on creating secure attachments. When families feel more connected they report improved communication, better problem solving, increased trust and respect for each other and more quality time spent together. *Shannon does not work with families dealing with current and unresolved custody issues.
